Who attends NNA Conference?

Notaries Public from coast-to-coast, employers of Notaries, Notary Signing Agents, Trusted Enrollment Agents, representatives of state governments, and special guests including the NNA Notary of the Year and Keynote speakers. And, with all of the sights and fun things to see and do in San Diego — you may want to bring the whole family!

What can I expect from the Conference?

The NNA Conference is "The Notary Event of the Year" and offers educational workshops to help build your skills, your business and your knowledge, introduces you to new and exciting income opportunities, and provides the world's largest arena for Notary networking.

What is the Conference schedule?

San Diego is an exciting city with lots to offer NNA Conference attendees. Registration begins on Sunday, June 3, with the Welcome Reception held Sunday evening. Monday, June 4 will feature the Opening General Session featuring the State of the Notary Public Office Address, along with a wide range of workshops. Tuesday, June 5 will feature the presentation of theMarch Fong Eu Achievement Award, followed by workshops and the Secretaries of State Keynote Panel, and the Gala Banquet, where the Notary of the Year nominees will be honored. Wednesday, June 6 will feature a Notary Public Administrator Panel discussion and additional workshops.

How do I register for the Conference?

CLICK HERE to register online or call the NNA toll-free at 1-800-US NOTARY (1-800-876-6827). Online registrations may be submitted electronically with credit card information. Phone and online registration orders must be received no later than 12 pm Pacific on Thursday, May 31, 2012. Individuals wishing to register after 12 pm Pacific on May 31 must do so in person at the Conference registration desk.

If you prefer to register by mail, a registration form may be downloaded and mailed to the NNA with credit card information or a check made payable to "National Notary Association." Mail registration and payment to: National Notary Association, P.O. Box 541032, Los Angeles, CA 90054-1032. Registration by mail must be postmarked on or before May 15, 2012.

May I register onsite at the Conference?

Conference and Signature Event Guest Passes will be available for purchase on-site. Cash, credit cards, checks or money orders are acceptable forms of payment.

What is the cost for Conference registration?

We are pleased to offer an Early Bird registration discount to Conference attendees who register by January 31, 2012!

Full registration for the 34th Annual NNA Conference is $499 for those NNA members who register by the Early Bird deadline of January 31, 2012 ($549 for non-members).

Registration purchased between February 1 – April 30 is $549 for NNA members, $599 for non-members.

Conference registrations purchased after April 30 are $599 for NNA Members and $649 for non-members.

What is covered by my Conference registration fee?

Full Conference registration includes all General Sessions, regular Conference workshops and materials, plus the Welcome Reception, Gala Banquet, coffee and snack breaks, Hands-on Notarization and Social Media Labs, and networking opportunities. It does not cover airfare, hotel accommodations, or personal expenses.

May I bring a spouse or friend to the Conference?

Yes. Your guest may join you at the Welcome Reception and the Gala Banquet with a Signature Event Guest Pass purchase. However, full Conference registration is required for your guest to attend any Conference workshops.

What is different about this year's Conference? Why do I need to attend another one?

The Notary landscape is constantly changing, and with more attention placed on the office of the Notary Public today, being on top of your game has never been more important.

May I attend the Conference if I am not an NNA member?

Are members of the media able to attend the Conference?

To receive a Media Credential, all interested parties must contact the NNA for clearance. Please contact Phillip Browne at 1-818-739-4039.

When do I check-in for the Conference once I'm at the hotel?

All Conference attendees must check-in at Conference Registration in the Harbor Island Foyer in the Sheraton's Marina Tower to receive their Conference materials, including the name badge that serves as your ID during the Conference. Registration will open on Sunday, June 3 from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Conference Registration will be open daily, June 4 – June 6 at the following times: Monday, June 3, 7:00 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.; Tuesday, June 4, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m; Wednesday, June 5, 7:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Getting to the Conference

Do you offer discounted airfare?

No. Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.

What is the best way to get to San Diego?

The San Diego International Airport is only 1 mile from the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, and complementary round trip shuttle service is offered by the hotel (see above). For those wishing to take a more scenic route, the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner offers easy access to San Diego from a variety of Southern California coastal cities. The San Diego Amtrak station is a brief 3 mile cab ride to the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

I'm driving to the Conference and will need to park my car at the hotel. What are my options?

Onsite parking at the Sheraton is $22 per night for overnight self-parking, and $8 per day for local daily self-parking.

Save $22 by pre-purchasing our discounted 3-night Conference parking package at a reduced rate of $44. Supplies are limited and are available on a first-come basis only. The discounted parking package is only available for overnight self-parking at the Sheraton for all three nights of the Conference (June 3, June 4, and June 5), and may not be modified or transferred.

Where can I find more information regarding transportation, restaurants and activities in San Diego?

Attendees of the 2012 NNA Conference will have free time to visit popular attractions in San Diego, including the world-famous San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, the historic Gaslamp Quarter and of course the beaches! Cancellations / Refunds

I need to cancel my Conference Registration, am I entitled to a refund?

Requests for full refunds must be in writing via email at services@nationalnotary.org, via fax at 1-800-833-1211 or by mail no later than Monday, May 7, 2012. Refund requests received May 8 through May 24, 2012, will be assessed a $50 service charge. No refunds will be made for requests received after May 24, 2012. Policy applies to Conference registration, Guest passes and pre-paid parking passes.

Is there a discounted hotel rate for Conference attendees?

NNA Conference attendees receive the special Conference room rate of only $125 a night, if the room reservation is made prior to May 15, 2012. After that date, the Conference room rate is subject to change and availability.

How do I make my hotel reservation?

Hotel reservations may be made online or by calling Sheraton Reservations directly at 1-877-734-2726. Be sure to mention that you are attending the NNA Conference 2012 to receive the specially-arranged room rate of only $125 prior to May 15, 2012.

May I request my room be on a specific floor?

Specific requests will be granted as hotel space permits. Please make these requests when you make your room reservation.

What is the dress code for the Conference?

The dress code for all daytime events is Business Casual. Business Casual means attire that is suitable for wear to a place of business. Denim (jeans), shorts, sweatshirts or pants (regardless of name brand), leggings, descriptive T-shirts (i.e. wording or pictures across the front and/or back), athletic shoes (sneakers or tennis shoes) or hats of any type are not appropriate Business Casual attire. When regarding your outfit choices, please keep in mind that the Annual NNA Conference is a professional event.

What is the appropriate attire for the Welcome Reception and Gala Banquet?

Cocktail attire is encouraged for all men and women attending all evening functions related to the Conference.

What happens if I lose my Conference badge?

Badges may be replaced at the Conference registration desk once your registration has been verified.

Will Notary supplies be available for purchase at the Conference?

Yes. From seal stamps and journals to supply totes and business cards, you'll have the opportunity to stock up on what you need for a successful career. Free shipping is available for all NNA supply purchases made at the Conference.

May I use cash to purchase supplies at the Conference?

Yes. Cash, credit cards, checks or money orders are acceptable.

Are any meals included with my registration?

Yes. The Welcome Reception includes food and non-alcoholic beverages, along with two drink tickets per attendee (cash bar service will also be available). In addition to a plated dinner, there will be one hour of complimentary bar service provided at the beginning of the Gala Banquet, with cash bar service available for the remainder of the evening. Coffee and snack breaks will be provided Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday while workshops are in session. Workshops will break for lunch each day of the Conference, allowing attendees to make their own arrangements.

Are the Welcome Reception and Gala Banquet included with my Conference registration?

Yes. If you are bringing one or more guests to an event, a Signature Events Pass purchase is required for guest admittance to the Welcome Reception and Gala Banquet. (See above.)

I'm arriving at the hotel two days before the Conference. Will I still receive the Conference room rate?

The NNA Conference room rate of $125/night is valid Thursday, May 31 through Saturday, June 9, provided you have registered for the Annual NNA Conference. Regular hotel rates apply for stays before and after those dates, and for reservations received after May 14, 2012.

May I check-in early or check-out at a later time?

Early check-in or late check-out is granted by the hotel as space permits. The Sheraton's standard check in time is 3:00 pm; check-out is at 12:00 pm.

Does the hotel offer Internet access in the guest rooms?

Yes, both connected and wireless high-speed Internet access is available in all rooms for $11.95 per day. Free wi-fi and complementary access to PC/printer workstations are available in the hotel lobby Link@Sheraton area.

What are my dining options in the hotel?

Are there additional dining options near the hotel?

Does the hotel have a pool?

Three swimming pools, ranging between three and five feet — two large adult pools and a separate children's pool — afford great views of the marina and include water volleyball, hot tubs and features especially for children.

Does the hotel provide airport shuttle service?

The hotel offers free round trip shuttle transportation, which runs every 20 minutes from the San Diego International Airport terminals 1 and 2 between the hours of 4:45 am and midnight (outside of these hours guests may request a pickup by phoning the hotel directly). Look for the gray, white and blue vans!

I didn't receive a confirmation when I registered online. May I obtain one by calling the NNA?

Yes, if for any reason you have not received a confirmation of your registration, please call the NNA at 1-800-US NOTARY (1-800-876-6827) and a confirmation receipt will be forwarded to you right away.

What do I need to check-in at Conference registration?

A valid photo I.D. is required.
