Notaries are the front line of defense protecting our rights and property from document fraud. The position held by a Notary Public will always be one that demands the highest standards of integrity and ethics. Notaries are the guardians of a great trust that has been passed on for centuries.
Around the world, courts place great confidence in the certificates they sign and seal — in fact, they are regarded as prima facie evidence of the facts they declare. Lack of basic instruction and training on their official duties can be a weakness in Notaries' fraud-deterrent armor.
That's why the state of New Mexico and the National Notary Association have set up a joint Notary-education program in the state. Through this program, Notaries will acquire the practical knowledge needed to confidently perform their Notary duties.
